Listing equality guidelines

Everyone looking for a home on Yebo deserves to be treated fairly. These guidelines apply to every listing and every message sent through the platform.

Do not exclude people

Do not state or imply that a property is unavailable to someone because of their tribe or ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, marital or family status, pregnancy, disability, age, or health status.

That includes wording that sounds neutral but excludes in practice, such as "no children" or "for a particular community only".

Describe the property, not the person you want

Write about what the property is and has:

• Say "one-bedroom apartment, third floor, no lift" rather than "not suitable for the elderly"
• Say "shared compound with three other units" rather than describing who should live there
• State genuine requirements plainly — for example a deposit amount or a minimum lease term

Accessibility is a feature

If a property has a ramp, a ground-floor entrance, a wide doorway or a lift, say so. It helps people who need it find it.

Reporting

If you see a listing that breaks these guidelines, report it. We remove discriminatory wording and may suspend accounts that repeat it.
