Data requests

How to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted.

Last updated 11 August 2026

Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 you can ask what personal data we hold about you and what we do with it.

What you can ask for

  • Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — fix anything inaccurate or out of date
  • Deletion — remove your data, including your identity documents
  • Objection — ask us to stop a particular use of your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable form

How to make a request

Open a data protection request from the email address on your account, and tell us which of the above you want. We aim to acknowledge within three working days and to complete your request within 30 days.

We may ask you to confirm your identity first — that protects you from someone else requesting your data.

What we may keep

We may retain limited records where the law requires it, or where we need them to prevent fraud or protect other users. If we do, we will tell you what and why.

Some things you can do yourself immediately: edit your details in My Profile, and delete verification documents from Identity Verification.
