What to upload to verify your identity, and how the check works.

Sellers must verify their identity before a listing can go live. It is what lets buyers trust that a real, identifiable person is behind an advert.
What you need
- A photo of the front of your National ID
- A photo of the back of your National ID
- A selfie, taken now rather than an old photo
Accepted formats are JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 5 MB per file.
How to submit
Open the account menu, choose Identity Verification, read the consent statement, upload the three images and submit. You must give consent before we can process the documents — see How we protect your documents.
What happens next
We check that the name on the ID matches your account, that the face on the ID matches your selfie, and that the selfie is a live capture. A member of our team then makes the final decision, and you get a notification with the outcome.
Verification usually completes within one working day.
