Paying by mobile money or card

The payment methods we accept and what a genuine Yebo payment looks like.

How to pay

You only pay when you choose a boost — see What costs money on Yebo. You see the amount and what it covers before you confirm, and that amount is exactly what is debited.

Methods we accept

  • Mobile money — MTN MoMo and Airtel Money, the way most people in Uganda pay
  • Cards — Visa and Mastercard

What a genuine Yebo payment looks like

  • You start it yourself, from a page on yebo.co, and see the amount before confirming
  • A mobile money prompt arrives on the number you entered and names Yebo
  • You get a receipt in the app and by email

What is never genuine

  • A request to send money to an individual's personal mobile money number
  • A caller or message asking for your PIN, or asking you to approve a prompt you did not start
  • Anyone offering to approve, "fast-track" or "unlock" your listing for a fee — reviewing and publishing a listing is always free

We will never ask for your mobile money PIN or your full card details, by phone or by message. If something feels wrong, stop and contact us.
